Ok we are stuck in the 80ies for a few more Years. But John Maus does a pretty good Job in deconstructing Synthpop of that age and putting it back together with very reduced instrumentals. Crafting songs which slowly build up and grow around his voice. His new Album We Must Become the Pitiless Censors of Ourselves is out now on Upset the Rhythm (Europe) / Ribbon Music (North America).
