Maybe we should get in touch with Virgin Galactic for our Squirrelpower Zero-G Sessions.

This month’s issue of The Famous Trash Rock Poo-Poo Music Club at club fluc is featuring the album release show of THE KRAFFTMALEREI. The Viennese multidisciplinary quartet is aiming to create ‘art’ with videos, music, installations,  actionism,  drawings and – as the name suggests – paintings. Their 30-track self-released Album ‘Musik‘ will be available in limited quantities at the show.

And of course they pursue the title of “weirdest ‘Rock band’ of all time”…

Soft Invasions is the debut album – using the moniker Squalloscope - for Anna Kohlweis who released three albums before as Paper Bird. Soft Invasions is based on notes from a travel diary and was mostly recorded in Anna Kohlweis’ home with the help of various guest artists which she met along the way. It is a really intense and haunting album that will be an important part of our soundtrack for future travels…

“this the result of things that were written into a little black book on trains, planes, hotel rooms, in friends’ and relatives’ houses far away from where i come from. in spring, in winter, in autumn. mostly fearless. always at home, somehow. if you asked me where you should listen to this, i’d say, “on trains, on planes, on your bike, in movement, with your lover, on your own, in the dark, eyes closed.”

The album release show is set for March 27th at Rhiz/Vienna. Squalloscope – Soft Invasions is out now as Download and after March 16th as CD on Seayou Records (I heard pre-orders ship earlier).

 Time to revive our Video Friday series. This time a defining hip hop track from 2002. Masai Bey with Paper Mache, the beats on this one were made by EL-P.

New release by our favorite Swedish E.B.M outfit Spark!. On their new Album Hela din värld!, which is out now on Progress Productions, Stefan Brorsson and Mattias Ziessow stayed true to their distinctive style which also includes Swedish vocals. From the sound perspective they continued the development started with their Genom Stormen EP and moved further towards future pop. But you can still expect some heavy bangers from this duo.

New Sampler We Are World Around Vol.2 from World Around Records. The sampler contains 19 new and previously unreleased tracks from the label’s roster and guests. Artists like Man Mantis, Dr. Quandary, Louis Mackey,  Algorhythms and many more deliver a nice compilation ranging from rap/ hip hop to down-tempo instrumental tunes.
